Yesterday, before the snow was set to arrive, I took the kids on a hike. I knew we would not be getting out too much today because we just do not have appropriate clothes for the weather.
We headed to Athens, Georgia and visited the State Botanical Garden of Georgia. The State Botanical Garden has a nice visitor center and gardens, but we have only been to hike the trails. They have a nice trail system that is well-marked and pretty popular.
Today we chose to hike the orange trail and a tiny bit of the white trail (so we could get back to our car). This trail led us along a creek, through some wetlands and then next to the Oconee River.
The boys had a great time jumping around and in the creek. There were also a few places that had fallen trees that they traversed.
Overall it was a great hike and somewhere the boys said they would like to hike again.
Where have you hiked lately?
