I’m 32 days into my run streak!

It has been over a month since I started my run streak. I will say, that the first two weeks were the most difficult. For one, there were some days I just didn’t want to run. The streak was so new. I felt silly being excited about a single digit run streak. Motivation was low because running was painful and uncomfortable. Also, our schedule was pretty crazy, so was I having to get real creative when it came to when I ran.

After about two weeks, things became easier. For one, soccer season ended, which freed up a lot of my time. Secondly, I decided that the best thing to do was get up and start running in the morning.

Running in the morning has been the best decision for my run streak and my mental health. For one, the endorphines I get from running help set my mood for the rest of the day.

Secondly, I get my run done and out of the way. I hate having things hanging over my head, so by getting my run out of the way in the morning I eliminate that problem.

Also, if I run in the morning I don’t have to worry about sneaking away and getting it done during the day. Most mornings, I get it done before the kids are up and wanting my attention.

Lastly, when I put in the work in the morning, I make better decisions when it comes to my diet. I figure if I am already putting in the work why ruin it by eating poorly the rest of the day.

So now that I have made it past 21 days, I am not sure where I am going next with the run streak. I know I signed our family up for the 365 mile challenge, so I may work these two things together. Who knows? There is no telling what the next year may bring.

I know every mile will be worth my while.
