I know many people make resolutions or goals each year. I also realize that most people don’t follow through with them. However, I am one of those people who needs goals or deadlines in order to get things done. Although I set goals in 2015 that I didn’t achieve, I still count the year a success. I mean look at what I created instead.
My goals for 2016 are similar as my goals were for 2015.
1. Weight train consistently.
I am good at lifting for a week or two, but I never seem to make it a priority. Honestly, I enjoy getting outside and running or walking more. However, this year, I am going to be focusing more on gaining muscle.
2. Get faster.
This year I want to get faster instead of being able to run forever. I am not going to have the time to spend hours running this year, I have a baby to feed, so I am going to take this year and get faster, something I have wanted to do for years.
3. Gain Flexibility.
I want to be able to stay active until the day I die and I know that remaining flexible is an important part of being able to do that. Besides I lost some flexibility due to a large belly this past year, but she was completely worth it.
4. Lose inches.
I would love to lose weight, but I know that it will be a struggle this year since it is more important for me to nurse Thing 4. However, I am confident that I can reshape my body, and lose inches with my weight training.
5. Eat Cleaner
I’m not looking to go super strict with my eating, but I want to get back to the healthier eating that I was doing before I got pregnant. Honestly, cooking and eating during my pregnancy was a struggle. Everything tasted weird or smelt bad, so if I got a craving I would eat it. There were many days that I struggled to get enough calories because food was just nasty. Thus my healthy eating and the boys healthy eating struggled. However, as we have settled into a routine, I’m ready to get our eating back under control.
To achieve the goals, I plan to take small steps each month. I am making monthly workout calendars and menus that will help me reach these goals. I am also setting small goals each month, which I hope to post here on the blog, that will help me reach my goals.
