{Wednesday Weigh In} : 4.3.13

Written by Mommy Cameron | Getting Fit

Last week I became completely transparent when it came to my weight, something I have been reluctant to do.  Honestly, who really wants anyone to know how much you weigh, especially in a society where being a waif is “in” and being close to 200 pounds is a death sentence.  Where models are airbrushed, whether they are too fat or too muscular.  And so much more…

However, by sharing how much I weigh it has…

1.  Given me motivation. By putting me weight out there it has given me some much needed motivation to make sure I do what I need to do to become successful.  It forces me to hold myself accountable.  There is no way I want to have to write about gaining weight, although I know that could happen.

2.  Given me fans.  Now that people know my goals and how much I weigh, it allows them to cheer me.  More motivation, I will take it!

3.  Allowed me to become an inspiration to others.  I know I am not the only person who is struggling to lose weight.  Why not share my struggle and inspire someone else.

4.  Lifted a weight off my shoulders. In our society, you just don’t tell someone how much you weigh.  It just isn’t done.  But by opening myself up and sharing my weight, I feel lighter.  Am I happy with the number, no not really, but it is out there and I am going to work my tail of to change it.  However, since it is out there I don’t feel like the number defines me anymore. It is not something I have to hide.  It is just a number that I am working to change.

So without further ado…

Wednesday Weigh In

Last week I weighed in at 193.  This week I weighed in at 192.  Down one pound!  I will take it!

How was your week?

  1. I commend you for taking that step! Until recently, I wouldn’t do that either, but I just started on Weight Watchers Online, and have decided to do a blog about my weight loss journey, so I have taken that big leap, too! I hadn’t thought about all the good things it might help with, to have it out in the open, but I think you’re right! I am just getting started, and joined in on a linky party with this post. If you’d like to join in, come on over and add yours!

My 14 year old daughter is doing the same thing, and she would love to get some visitors, if you’d care to pay her a visit, too! Her url is http://teenyteenloser.blogspot.com!

    Good luck to you!
