I finished my first triathlon Saturday morning, so now it is time to decide what I am going to be doing next. What races am I going to do? Am I going to keep up with swimming and biking?
Like I mentioned before, I need something to train for because it keeps me motivated. Honestly, there are days when my only motivation is that I have a race coming up. So, I am working on finding my next race. However, both of the boys will be starting soccer soon, thus I will not be able to race on Saturday mornings. Also, both Thing 1 and Thing 2 would like to do a kids race, so I am going to start to find one that will work for everyone. I am going to be focusing on shorter races so that I can work on my speed, or lack there of. If I could get a little faster, it would make training for longer runs a little easier.
As for swimming, I have decided that I will continue to swim on Sunday mornings until it gets too cold. Swimming is a great full body workout, especially the upper boys, which I can really use.
I plan to continue biking too. Some of my biking will consist of taking my boys around town. But, I also hope to continue riding on the weekends some without my boys. I think it also might be fun to do a bike race, something I never thought I would do or be interested in doing.
Overall, I have rally enjoyed the full body workout that triathlon training has brought me. It has also been a great way to break up my normal running routine, thus my desire to keep aspects of triathlon training in my workout routine.
Have you ever done a triathlon? Did you enjoy the training?
