Triathalon Training Begins

I officially registered for my first triathlon today!

I also did my first bit of actual training for my first triathlon this weekend.  Saturday morning I began my morning with an 8 mile bike ride, without any kids.  Riding the bike without the boys is definitely different from riding with them. I am going to have to work on using my gears a little better.  I also realized that the bike is probably going to be my least favorite part, mainly because cars are scary.

After my 8 mile bike ride, I headed out for a run.  When I started my run, I had no idea how far I was going to go run.  Well, I ended up running 4 miles.  The first mile was a little rough, but then everything fell into stride and it got easier.  I will definitely continue to practice the bike to run transition so my legs can get used to the transition.

Now I just need to find some time to practice swimming.  It has been a while, like a year, since I last swam.  However, for some reason that fact that doesn’t bother me.  We will see how it goes when I finally get a chance to swim.
