{Weigh In} April 11

Two weeks in a row!  It has been a while since I have been consistently blogging about my weight, which is probably why I haven’t been consistent about losing weight.  I need the visual reminder that comes with writing about where my weight is in order to stay on track. 

I am down 2 pounds from last week!  That puts my total weight loss down to 4.5 pounds.

Yesterday, I finally decided that if I am going to be really successful with losing weight before we head to the beach I need to start tracking my food.  So I dusted off my old Sparkpeople account, reset it all (it has been a long time since I have been on it), and started tracking my food yesterday.

One of the features on Sparkpeople is that you can pick a future date and based on how many pounds you can lose a week, it will give you your weight at that date, if you stay on track.  It also gives you the calorie range you should hit each day in order to achieve that goal.

When I entered the date for a beach trip, I really liked the weight it gave me.  It gave me a realistic goal to strive towards.  It also made me realize that I can do this.  For the first time in a long time I have a realistic and specific goal to shoot for giving me hope.

Mentally one of the biggest hang ups I have had when it comes to losing weight is that I have a long way to go to get to a healthier weight making the task of losing weight so daunting.  However, somehow seeing a realistic weight that I could be within a few months made this journey seems much less daunting especially since my calorie range is something I can completely do without any problems.

I can do this!
