{Running} 8 Miles – DONE!

I had a pretty solid training week.  I dropped all the excuses, and managed to get my runs done as scheduled.  I didn’t even let the rainy weather and our full schedule Thursday morning stop me.

Thursday morning was rainy with a little bit of thunder, so there was no way I was getting out to run and push the boys in the stroller.  We had a full schedule, so I knew if I didn’t get my 4 mile run in the morning, it wasn’t going to happen. Since we don’t have treadmill, I had to improvise.  Instead, I ran the stairs in my house for 35 minutes and I ran the small loop in my house for 15 minutes.  It may not have been 4 miles, but it was way better than nothing.

I can tell that I fit in some version of all my runs this week, because my long run (8 miles) went much better than expected.  I ran 11:45 minutes per mile.  Which is 15 seconds faster than any of my runs up to this point.  Oh, and I felt great!

Tuesday: 3 miles – Done
Wednesday: Walk (30 min.) or >1 mile – Walk Done
Thursday: 4 miles – In the house – see above
Friday: Walk or Off – OFF
Saturday: 8 miles – DONE
Sunday: 2 miles – Will be done this afternoon.

I am still not as motivated or as in love with running as I was a year ago, however, I do feel that I am starting to get back to that place.  Right now it is just about getting out there and getting moving again.
